Which scheme answers your claim

We run motorbike claims through the scheme of the state where the crash happened. In Victoria that is the TAC (the Transport Accident Commission, the no-fault scheme that covers everyone injured in a transport accident, riders included). In the other states and territories where we act, claims usually run through CTP insurance (compulsory third party, the insurance attached to every registered vehicle that covers people injured by its use). When another driver caused the crash, it is their CTP insurer that answers for your injuries.

What compensation can include

We claim for what the injury actually costs you: medical and rehabilitation expenses, income lost while you're off work, care and support at home, and, where injuries are more serious, lump sum compensation for pain and lost earning capacity.

What evidence helps

We build these claims on detail. Hold on to anything that pins down how the crash happened and what it did to you:

• the licence and registration details of the other rider or driver
• helmet-cam or dashcam footage
• your medical records, from first treatment onwards
